Ringers' Guild

Because there are so few bells like Immanuel's in North America, there aren't many people who can ring them. Ringers ring the bells before church on Sundays, at funerals, and at weddings. Some ringers, who aren't members of Immanuel, ring the bells at practice only.  If you're intrigued by the idea of change ringing, there's always room for more ringers at Immanuel.

There are no physical restrictions, except the ability to climb the stairs to the bell tower and stand up to ring the bells – even older children can learn to ring. New ringers must learn how to handle the bells and familiarize themselves with methods of ringing. The ability to listen and count and a good sense of timing are also good qualifications for future ringers. But truly anyone can learn.

If you'd like to learn more about bell ringing opportunities at Immanuel – and remember, you don't have to be a church member - please contact Tower Captain Liz Plant via the church office at 302-328-2413 or via email at office@immanuelonthegreen.org.  Also, if you're interested in membership information about the North American Guild of Change Ringers, click here to visit their wesite.
